ЕУТАНАЗИЈА И МЕНТАЛНИ ПОРЕМЕЋАЈИ: ДА ЛИ САМО ФИЗИЧКА ПАТЊА ОПРАВДАВА ПРАВО НА ДОСТОЈАНСТВЕНУ СМРТ?

Аутор се у раду бави спорним питањем права на еутаназију код пацијената са дијагностикованим менталним поремећајем. Да би објаснио значај теме, аутор указује на распрострањеност менталних поремећаја, те их у најкраћим цртама дефинише и приказује њихове симптоме. Анализирајући законодавства Холандије, Белгије, Луксембурга и Аустрије, аутор се фокусира на критеријуме медицинског карактера које ове земље захтевају у поступцима еутаназије/медицински потпомогнутог самоубиства. Том приликом, аутор критички разматра да ли ментални поремећаји могу испунити захтевани критријум у виду тешке и неизлечиве болести, као и да ли ови поремећаји код пацијента могу проузроковати неподношљиву патњу. На крају, аутор разматра да ли ментални поремећаји могу утицати на способност пацијента да донесе релевантну одлуку о окончању живота, те даје закључна разматрања о овој теми.
